Ph.D. and Associate Professor in Colonial and Post-Colonial Global History Fredrik Petersson, postdoctoral researcher Åbo Akademi University (ÅA), received his doctoral degree in History (ÅA, 2013) on the dissertation ‘We Are Neither Visionaries Nor Utopian Dreamers’. Willi Münzenberg, the League against Imperialism, and the Comintern, 1925-1933 (published as vol.I-II, Lewiston: Queenston Press, 2013). His research focuses on the global articulations and encounters of twentieth century anti-colonialism through transnational experiences of individuals and organizations. Petersson is currently completing the monograph ‘The Elephant and the Porcelain Shop’. Transnational Anti-Colonialism and the League against Imperialism, 1927 – 1937, for publication in 2017 (Leiden: Brill). Founding member of the ‘Global History Laboratory’ at ÅA; professional experience as Lecturer in General History at ÅA (2014-16); affiliations include the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU, Moscow); Stockholm University; and the Swedish Defense College, Stockholm. Petersson’s publication list includes numerous articles on twentieth century anti-colonialism, anti-imperialism and international communism.
