Hanna Hodacs is an Associate professor at the University of Dalarna. Her latest book Silk and Tea in the North – Scandinavian Trade and the Market for Asian Goods in Eighteenth Century Europé (Palgrave Macmillan 2016) focuses on the Danish and the Swedish trade with China, Hodas has also worked on eighteenth century history of science (see e.g. forthcoming Linnaeus, natural history and the circulation of knowledge, ed. Hanna Hodacs, Stéphane Van Damme and Kenneth Nyberg, Voltaire Foundation, Oxford, 2018), and Naturalhistoria på resande fot. Om forska, undervisa och göra karriär i 1700-talets Sverige (Nordic Academic Press, 2007, co-written with Kenneth Nyberg).
Hodacs did her PhD at Uppsala University (Converging world views: the European expansion and early-nineteenth-century Anglo-Swedish contacts, Studia Historica Upsaliensia, 2003). She held post doc positions in Uppsala, Stockholm (Center for History of Sciences, Royal Academy of Sciences), and at the Centre for Global History and Culture, University of Warwick.
