Laura Hollsten, Dr. Phil., is a University Teacher in General History at Åbo Akademi University, Turku, Finland. Among her research interests are Environmental History, Atlantic History, History of Ideas and Science, Human-Animal Studies, History of Consumption.
Her current projects include:
- The Place of Animals in the Early Modern Atlantic World.
- Mobile Metal: Mining and Flows of Mercury in the Early Modern Atlantic World.
- Travelling the Earth: Transnational Networks of Finnish Geologists in 1900–1945
